Kerria Japonica 'Golden Guinea'

The large, 5-petal blossoms of Kerria japonica 'Golden Guinea' might be named for glittering coins but to our eyes they suggest Buttercups, and plenty of them. The single blooms appear in multitudes in spring, festooning a medium-size, deciduous shrub that also features lance-shaped, fresh green foliage that is handsomely veined. These rugged plants don’t interest deer, and they tolerate dry or wet soil and even heavy shade.
